But what really impressed us were the hard-to-find dishes, like:
Tu Thor T’ng (Pig’s Stomach Soup): Comforting, peppery, and perfect for soup lovers.
Jiu Hu Char: This shredded cuttlefish and vegetable stir-fry tasted just like the homemade version we enjoy during Chinese New Year!
Ayam Goreng Belachan: Crispy fried chicken with a punchy belachan (shrimp paste) marinade—“sedap giler!”
With so many dishes to choose from, we honestly didn’t know where to start!
Desserts: The Kueh-Kueh Heaven
We couldn’t miss out on the desserts. The kueh-kueh (traditional Nyonya cakes) were cut into small, bite-sized pieces, which is a little dangerous because it makes it so easy to keep eating them—“tak berhenti makan!” One bite, no regrets, and then... another bite. Haha!
