BabaGabra Ltd was born out of a deep love for our heritage and a strong desire to preserve and promote Baba Malay, a unique language spoken by the Baba Nyonya community in Singapore and Malacca. As members of the younger generation, we’ve seen how the use of Baba Malay has gradually faded, overshadowed by the dominance of English in our daily lives. For many young Babas and Nyonyas today, there are few opportunities to engage with this language, let alone learn it in a way that resonates with modern life. That’s where BabaGabra comes in.

We are a Non-Profit Organisation, collective of passionate young Baba's committed to reintroducing the language of our ancestors in a way that’s relevant to today’s world. By creating content that blends tradition with modernity, we challenge the misconception that Baba Malay is outdated or frozen in time. Instead, we showcase its adaptability and timeless beauty, proving that it can evolve just as our ancestors did when they first forged a unique identity blending the many cultural influences.
